Job Description
The Finance Officer will be responsible for maintaining financial health through meticulous financial management and reporting. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage financial activities including budgeting, reporting, and audit compliance to ensure smooth and transparent financial operations. The Finance Officer will work closely with other departments to align financial strategies with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and budget reports.
- Monitor financial transactions and recommend necessary adjustments.
- Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to assess financial health.
- Budgeting & Forecasting
- Develop and monitor annual budgets and projections.
- Work with department heads to review budget performance and recommend adjustments.
- Forecast future financial performance based on historical data and trends.
- Compliance & Auditing
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits and implement recommendations.
- Stay updated on relevant financial laws and regulations.
- Accounts Management
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow.
- Process payroll, track expenses, and ensure timely payments.
- Financial Strategy & Planning
- Support strategic financial planning initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Participate in long-term financial planning and goal setting.
Job Requirements
- Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- [2-5+] years of experience in financial management, accounting, or similar role.
- Technical Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and MS Office, especially Excel.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and budgeting.
- Familiarity with financial forecasting and cost control principles.
- Key Competencies
- Exceptional analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
- Certifications (Preferred)
- CPA, CFA, or relevant financial certification is a plus.
